Would like to hear your thoughts/plans on implementing the new features, etc in Lion into PearNote (Might make a good blog post)...

I'm going to hold off for a little bit before talking about plans to see how things shake out with some of the new Lion features. Certainly, several of the features are intriguing for Pear Note, especially Auto Save, Versions, and Resume. That said, Apple just put out the first developer preview and haven't even released their first beta. Things can change a lot between now and release. So, while I'm looking at the new features, I don't think I'll have a solid plan for a little while.

c-had,
Any new thoughts on this? Lion comes out next month and I am excited for many of the new features. I am curious how this will affect Pear Note.
Thanks

Ah, yes, I guess I should say a bit about this. The short of it is - this summer, Pear Note won't be taking advantage of any of the new features in Lion. I'm very excited about Lion, and many of the new features (some of which are public and some of which are still under NDA) will likely find a home within Pear Note. That said, the changes are so large that it will take a lot of effort to redesign the app to use them properly. Right now, I'm focused on Pear Note for iOS, and so a Pear Note designed to work with the power of Lion will have to wait a bit.

If I install Lion, Pear Note will still work, correct?

Oh, definitely. Pear Note will work just fine on Lion just as it does today on Snow Leopard. If any compatibility issues do arise in the final shipping version of Lion, I'll fix those immediately. My above statement was just referring to taking advantage of new features (e.g. Auto Save, Resume, Versions, etc.). The current features should all continue to work.
