    Hi Chad,
New customer, so I thought I would provide some initial feedback.
    1. I'd like to see a preference option to disable active letter highlighting, it's neat but ultimately a little distracting.
    2. I like the style of the active letter highlighting and would like to have that style available for the word highlighting as opposed to just he blue underline, which is a little too subtle too stand out on its own.
    3. It would be helpful to have an indication of the current size of the note package as you are recording too it. I'm concerned that these are going to grow very large if the user doesn't have some way of gauging the size in real time.

I'm running 1.3.1 on snow leopard and so far no problems.
Looking forward to experimenting on applying pear note to my workflow and seeing how it fits in.
I think you have a winning idea here.
I was contemplating purchasing a livescribe pen, but was being held back by the fact that I'm really basically paperless now and prefer electronic notes to notebooks.

Looking forward to how the product evolves and plan to provide useful feedback as I identify it.

    Hi David.

Thanks very much for the feedback. Please keep it coming.

    1) I've been debating putting this in for some time. I'm of the mind that every preference I add can further confuse the user, so I debate each preference before putting it in. I've been debating this one for some time. I'll add your vote to the yes column.

    2) Hmmm, I'm not sure I completely understand what you're asking for. The current design for active letters is a very prominent and very short animation for the character as it was typed, while the underline is a static underline that sticks around until the next word is highlighted. Are you asking to freeze the letter highlighting animation at some point throughout the entire word? I'm afraid that would be way too distracting. Am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

    3) I'd never thought of something like that. Thanks for the suggestion. Note that you can currently crop recordings if they go too long (found under the Edit menu).

    Thanks again for the feedback,
    Chad

Loving Pear Note. Now if only I could incorporate it into Evernote or maybe an iPhone app.

Sorry for not answering sooner. For some reason your message got caught in the spam filter.

Glad to hear you like Pear Note. I think Evernote Premium supports adding any file type (the free version is limited to only a couple of file types), but I'm not a Premium member so I've never tried Pear Note files in Evernote. I've tried Pear Note files in Together and DEVONthink, and it works fine in those organizers (I talked a bit about organizers in this blog post - http://www.usefulfruit.com/blog/2009/09/taking-notes-vs-organizing-information/ ).

As far as the iPhone app goes, I hear you. It's going to be a little while before I have something to show to answer this request, but I think the result is going to be really cool.
