Here's a tip on using PearNote effectively with speech recognition software, such MacSpeech's Dictate: Have PearNote record the audio while you dictate into a PearNote document. Now there's no need to look back at your dictation and check for accuracy. Instead, you can focus on your dictation, and on your thoughts. Then, if there is an inaccuracy you can't decipher, just play back the audio around that point to clear it up. Or, after you're done dictating, correct any errors in like fashion, then crop out all the audio to save space.
