I am wondering about a slightly different use of PN. I do spoken presentations backed up by PowerPoint (or KeyNote) slides.

I am looking for a way to take the recorded audio in mp3 or whatever, sync it with the slides and builds, and then export in a from of .html to put up on the website. Is there a way I could use PN for this?

I also go to loads of meetings BTW so the more conventional use is of interest too. But I do have the need as described above. If I could do the pres. live with the Mac, I could probasbly use PN to record it live. At the moment I have to use a PC running PowerPoint 2007, so I would have to process it via PN subsequently, taking a separate audion feed from iTunes or a recording.

`i think this app has great promise -- forgive me for wanting to push the boundaries a bit

I don't think Pear Note can behave as you describe currently. I do plan to implement support for importing external recordings in the next feature release (1.1), but exporting to html as you described is probably beyond current plans.

And don't worry about pushing the boundaries at all. I love to get suggestions like this. They help me to find direction for future versions.

    Thanks,

There's a market for it -- in academia for lectures, churches for sermons online -- fairly standard now to have the PowerPoint with them.

There is another app -- one other, to my knowledge, -- which is working with this. Plenty of room for some alternative approaches.

I was wrong about exporting to .html -- of course you wouldn't, it would be Quicktime or better still, Flash

I agree with greiggy there is an expanded market for your application. To integrate Power Point slides with an audio program and export it in a way to display the slides in iTunes or any other media player while listening to the audio. Next best would be to offer a free player for your application that could be downloaded from the web site that uses this approach.

We have more than 500 sermons (and PP slides) on our web site that could benefit from this approach. We have been looking for a way to do this for several years.

It would be neat for the program to be able to pick up the IR signal when the pastor changes slides and imbed the change like you do with the text.

Thanks for the feedback. I've gotten more feedback of this sort, so I'll likely see if I can find a solution for all of you. Note that this is a pretty large undertaking, so a feature like this won't be around any time soon, but rest assured that I hear your cries.

As far as picking up the IR signal goes, there are technical hurdles preventing that from working. That said, you can advance the slides manually in Pear Note, and Pear Note will remember when they were changed just like with the text.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I would certainly like to be a beta or alpha tester of this feature! Please keep us informed of your progress.
