While the Ohio State tandem of Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave along with Alabama's Jameson Williams captivate the conversation around his year's wide receiver cla s, another Big Ten target just might have the most immediate impact coming out of this year's NFL Draft.Penn State's Jahan Dotson is considered by most experts to be a first-round talent in this year's draft, but somehow his name simply hasn't caught on with the big three.Dotson had 91 catches for 1,182 yards last year for Penn State, along with 12 touchdowns. He was 12th in the nation in catches, 18th in receiving yards, and tied for eighth in touchdowns. All of that to say, he has the numbers to back up his impre sive measurables.IYER: Penn State coach James Franklin had high praise for Dotson.He just was so natural catching the ball, . I've had a bunch of wideouts, and he's probably the most natural guy I've had in catching the ball, in terms of being able to contort his body, he just catches the ball effortle sly. And it really doesn't matter where over the middle, on the perimeter, he just has got fantastic natural hands.The hands Franklin mentions are the most enticing part of Dotson's receiving repertoire. He dropped only two pa ses in 2021, making him among the most surehanded receivers in the country. If he can take that consistency into the NFL, he'll be an immediate contributor.In spite of all this, it still looks likely Dotson will go after No. 20 in this year's draft. . And that's what will make him so dangerous early on: The teams in the 20s who need receivers include the Patriots, Chiefs, Packers, Titans, and Buccaneers. That is to say: Dotson has a good chance of starting his career with Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, or Aaron Rodgers.When you're picking in the 20s, you're walking a tightrope. The goal is to get a Jim Brown Jersey player who can make an early impact while also making your team better, as ostensibly a team picking in the 20s was at least somewhat competitive the year before. He's leaner and shiftier than Adams is, but that would complement Rodgers' accuracy well.Although Dotson is a very different type of receiver from Adams, Rodgers' versatility mitigates that difference. He doesn't have the unicorn athleticism of Tyreek Hill -- that's why Hill's a unicorn -- but the Chiefs may well find themselves using him in more places. Dotson can line up inside or outside, but there are concerns about his frame (5-11, 183) against NFL cornerbacks on the outside. The slot seems to be a natural transition for him, but he would fit well in the Chiefs' motion-heavy offense.Dotson is sensational in space, something the Chiefs strive to create for their receivers. The concern is that his broken tackle rate -- where Hill shined for Kansas City -- remains low, relatively speaking. It simply isn't his game, so the Chiefs have to ask themselves if they want to scheme around that.How Jahan Dotson fits on the BuccaneersDotson doesn't have to go to Tampa Bay and be "the guy." The Buccaneers still have Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, the latter having re-signed in the offseason. That would allow Dotson to be an option in the slot nearly full-time Phillip Gaines Jersey , which could help make his NFL transition a bit le s painful. Tom Brady loves throwing to slot receivers, and Dotson would provide a terrific third option for him as Godwin and Evans get downfield.The Buccaneers don't have too many dire needs in this draft, so they can afford a luxury pick like Dotson. His style may clash with the likes of Stefon Diggs, who has a fairly similar frame and was in the slot one of every five snaps. The Titans make a lot of sense if they trade A.J. Brown, but they might not be able to afford taking a receiver in the first round with the other holes on their roster. The Patriots, at 21, could well have one of the big receiving options still on the board. While that doesn't preclude them taking Dotson, it seems unlikely any team is going to take him with Wilson, Olave or Willams still available.BENDER:Dotson is Joel Bitonio Jersey a player who will thrive in the right situation.
