Thanks for your patience and receptiveness in listening to our requests. Here's another...

Could PearNote be given the ability to search slide text (such as an attached pdf document) as well as the user-entered notes? Practically, without this ability, the user has to keep 2 copies of the document being used as slides...one outside pearnote (so it can be searchable), and one inside pearnote (to associate-as slides-with user entered notes).

Maybe I'm wrong in that Spotlight will already search the attached document (will it?), but it doesn't seem like DevonThink will find the Pearnote document based on text in the attached document.

    Hope I'm not too unclear.

That's a great idea. Thanks for pointing it out. It will definitely (unless I'm missing some non-obvious problem) get into a future release.

I'm not a DevonThink user, so I can't say for sure how it searches document. Once I get to this, I'll let you know to get you to see if it fixes DevonThink's behavior.

    Thanks,
    Chad

The just released Pear Note 1.1.3 includes support for adding text on slides to the Spotlight metadata. This should hopefully solve your problem. Note that it may take some time before Spotlight re-scans old documents after installing 1.1.3. Let me know if it works for you.

    Thanks,
    Chad
