How about an iPhone/iPod Touch version too? Though notes would be limited, between the audio and snapshots, PearNote would work for many occasions.

I'm a teacher and translator who's going back to school in the fall and I am hoping to make my new iPad my main study tool with the help of Pear Note. I've seen a couple of other apps in the app store with similar, although more limited, functionality (SoundPaper & AudioNote), but I've been waiting to see what you guys come up with. So, count me in for a beta version - can't wait! My girlfriend is also looking forward to using Pear Note on her MacBook and iPad.

Hi, I use your application every day and I couldn't live without it. Besides Safari, it is the most used application I have. I really appreciate the continued support and development of the program as well. I was wondering, are there any plans to release an iPad version? As a student, it would be great to be able to take the iPad to class, use your application, and then import said Pear Note files into the desktop version. I would be a first day purchaser. Just a thought!

Sorry, no plans for a jump forward feature in the immediate future. I'll keep it in mind for the future. That said, I am working on making playback speed adjustable, including some very fast speeds, which might help you out in trying to scan ahead quickly.

Thanks for the suggestion.

As far as accidentally hitting record, you're correct that undo does not undo recording. However, you can crop your recording (it's in the Edit menu). So, all you have to do is move the slider to the end of the recording you want to keep, then crop the recording.

You can also use this to delete the recording (just crop from the very beginning). It's not quite the same as removing the video (as you still have a video, it's just 0 seconds long), but it's likely close enough.

Hello,

Thanks again for such an amazing application, but just wanted to request some feature that I thought would be good. I love the "Jump back" button because it allows me to replay something quickly when I miss something. However, during the boring parts of lecture, I wish there was a "Jump Forward" button. The fast forward button doesn't work so well for me-- it is to slow and I rather just drag the time line instead of using the fast forward button (but Jump Forward would be awesome!).

Also, after I import a video and watch it again, I sometimes accidently hit the record button with the "record video" boxed checked which activates my camera recording myself. I wish I could undo this somehow (I don't think the "undo" feature works for this). I usually just have to quit my current pearnote without saving it and reopen it.

Also, a feature to delete the imported video (like the "Remove Slides" feature) would be cool too.

Thanks again!

The good news is that we are now working on Pear Note for iPad. Barring any unforeseen problems, Pear Note will be coming to the iPad. That said, it will take several months to create. I would not expect it to hit the App Store until late summer or so. If you're interested in beta testing Pear Note for iPad (and already have an iPad to do said beta testing on), watch these forums and I'll probably start asking for testers some time this summer.

Is there a way to erase the meta data for the time line in changing for the next slide? I realized that my slides are not in sync with the video and want to start over in terms of changing the next slide myself. I tried to delete the slides then importing them again, however, the meta data for the slides are still there. I don't want pearnote to automatically change to the next slide for me in playback mode-- rather i want to start over and do it myself.

Yeah, image support was added in 1.4. You just need to drag the image in (which you've already discovered).

I can't make any promises about playback speed adjustment, but I can say that my designer and I are looking into elegant ways to do this in the next version. So, there's a good chance it won't be too long, though if we don't come up with anything up to my standards, then it won't get in.

In the help document, it says that that you can add images and tables to the notes section of pear note:

"In addition, Pear Note includes some less common features including:

	• Highlighting
• Quick Lists
• Images"

Also, in the home page (http://www.usefulfruit.com/pearnote/) the last thumbnail, there is an example of the image of a caffeine molecule.

How do you add images and tables into the note section of pearnote? I tried dragging a Tiff image and JPEG into the notes section, but nothing comes up.

That sounds like a great suggestion. It would probably only be useful if the teacher had slide number on the slides (otherwise you'd have to be really good at keeping track of how many slides you'd gone through). At the moment, dummy slides provide a workaround, but I'll look at integrating something similar in the future directly into Pear Note. No promises (as I try not to make promises about future features), but I'll add it to the list of possible future features.

Hello,

I'm in my test period for that great piece of software and I'm having a problem : in some of the courses I'm following, teachers give their slides to students only after the course is finished, but I would be pleased to let Pear Note record slide changes even if there isn't any slides at the moment. Then, when the slides are made available, I could integrate them into the corresponding Pear Note document.
At the moment I am testing a way to do such a thing involving a dummy slides I will change in the future. So I hope when the slides will be released Pear Note would be able to keep the recorded slide changes.
But this is a tricky way, so what about including this in your software ?

Thanks !

does anyone else want evernote integration? I would pay for an upgrade to get get evernote syncing. Particularly if you lunched ab iPhone/Ipad app.

Good to know. My wife loves Pear Note for her school notes and she is now planning to only carry an iPad to class in the future. ;)
